Hello all SAINTERS.
Today the EFNL decided to call off the 2020 season for the senior competition. This includes Seniors, Reserves, Under 19’s, Women’s and Veterans.
The fact the EFNL were unable to give the clubs a firm start date was obviously the catalyst for the decision. The EFNL was waiting for clear direction from AFL Victoria which they were unable to obtain.
We have tried to keep the information flowing to our players, sponsors, members and supporters through our Website, Team App, Facebook and Saints news.
I feel for the players. Whether they are Senior players, Women’s or Under 19’s or even the Vets, to train and play with your mates is what I’m sure they are all missing. The fact that everyone has been isolating and unable to socialise with their mates, has made it 10 times worse.
Also our wonderful sponsors, members and supporters who miss there weekly footy fix down at Quambee.
Footy may be over in 2020 on field, but we still need your support off field. Once the COVID-19 restrictions ease and we are able to open the clubrooms over the coming weeks and months, we will hopefully have a few functions, to get together and we would love your support.
2021 seems a long way away, but for us as a Committee, when the decision was made today, we need to start preparing and get on the front foot. This includes coaches, players, fixtures, functions , the list goes on…
As far as Quambee Reserve goes, we have an unbelievable main ground. Brand new change rooms which look fantastic and playing lights, which will not only be fantastic for training, but will allow us to play night games and twilight games. The landscaping is starting around the ground, which will provide fantastic views on a tiered level, as well as seating around the ground.
We will also have some more exciting news in the coming weeks, which we will share once it has been finalised.
Once again, thank you to all SAINTERS for your ongoing support of our wonderful community club.
